Critter Camp--Animal Tracks and Signs

Kids love to spend time outdoors! So, during Critter Camp, they'll get to do just that! During this session, we will discuss and look for animal tracks and signs that can be found around the park. This is day one of a three-day camp, but kids do not have to attend every day. It is geared towards kids that will going into grades 1-5 and is hosted in conjunction with NIACC's Continuing Education Program. Registration can be made through their web site. The cost will be $19/family for the entire 3-day camp.

Basic Canoeing for Kids

Kids 10-15 will learn the basics of canoeing, including how to enter and exit a canoe, how to paddle and steer, and how to stay safe. Then, they will be able to put their newfound skills to use on quiet Lake Catherine! All equipment will be provided. This program is hosted in conjunction with NIACC's Continuing Education Program and registration can be made through their web site. The cost for the program is $19/family.

Geocaching for Families

Bring the family out to learn about this fun outdoor activity! Geocaching has only been around about 20 years, but it has become very popular as a way to get outdoors, get some exercise, and explore new places! Participants will learn about the history of geocaching, how it works, and how to get started. Each family will need a smartphone and the ability to download the free Geocaching.com app. This program is hosted in conjunction with NIACC's Continuing Education Program and registration can be made through their web site. The cost will be $19/family.
