Winnebago County Road Department Moves Forward With Sale of Properties

Progress continues on a new Winnebago County shop two miles north of Forest City with an expected completion date of October 1st. Restoration work is also in progress at the newly dug gravel pits at Sunnyside Farm five miles west of Forest City. The new facility will replace the existing shop and storage facilities south of the Forest City Light Plant as well as the 79 acre Sunnyside Farm. The old facilities and farmland will be sold by online auction with closing dates tenatively scheduled for early September. An open house for the shops will be held on August 11 from 1-3 pm. Central States Agency is handling the sale. Official advertisements will begin in July.
