Thorpe Park, five miles west of Forest City, will be closed until further notice due to the recent snowfall. The snow has impacted the road and the mud that will be created by the melting snow will further impact it. We will let people know when the park is once again able to reopen.

The County Board of Supervisors will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year County tax asking as follows:
Meeting Date: 3/24/2026 Meeting Time: 11:00 AM Meeting Location: Winnebago County Supervisors Office 126 South Clark St. Forest City, IA 50436
At the public hearing any resident or taxpayer may present objections to, or arguments in favor of the proposed tax levy. After the hearing of the proposed tax levy,the Board will publish notice and hold a hearing on the proposed county budget.
