NOTICE OF INTENTION TO FILL VACANCY BY APPOINTMENT
Pursuant to Iowa Code §69.14A(2), the Winnebago County Board of Supervisors intends to fill a vacancy in the office of County Sheriff by appointment on January 2, 2027, at 9:00 A.M. Electors of the county have the right to file a petition requiring that the vacancy be filled by special election. Such a petition must be filed with the office of the County Auditor no later than fourteen days after the appointment is made. The last day to file the petition for said election is January 16, 2027, at 4:30 P.M. The term of appointment will begin on January 2, 2027 and continue until the office is up for the next county-wide election.
