Former Waldorf University Professor Paul Bartelt will discuss his research on how amphibians have repopulated restored wetlands here in Winnebago County. Come learn why amphibians are important and how they can adapt to recreated wetlands. Handouts will be available to take home and refreshments will be served. This program will be free of charge and no preregistration is required.

Come out to Thorpe Park and enjoy an evening of fishing at Lake Catherine! You won't need a fishing license and we'll have equipment that you can borrow, as well. Handouts and information about Iowa fish will also be available. Be sure to bring the whole family out! No preregistration is required, but the event may be canceled if the weather is inclement.

Join us for this week-long daycamp, co-sponsored by NIACC! On Monday, we'll meet at the Hanson Nature Center to learn about animal tracks and the different animal signs that we can see outdoors. We'll see examples of animals signs, make our own animal tracks, and dissect owl pellets. This daycamp is for kids going into grades 1st-5th and the cost for the whole week is $5.

On Tuesday, we'll meet at Pilot Knob State Park to learn about birds, including how to identify them, how they're able to fly, and how to attract them to your yard. And, of course, we'll go on a hike to look for birds! This daycamp is for kids going into grades 1st-5th and the cost for the whole week is $5.
