Our annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway will be held on Earth Day this year! So, stop by the new Hanson Nature Center on April 22nd to pick up a free tree seedling. This year's varieties include Black Cherry, Red Pine, White Oak, and Wild Plum. Quantities may be limited to one per person.

Come join is for an informal tour of the Spring nighttime sky! We'll observe, identify, and learn about some of the brighter stars and constellations that are visible this time of year. Afterwards, star charts will be handed out and refreshments will be available. The program will be free of charge and no preregistration is required, but it may be canceled if the skies are cloudy.

Former Waldorf University Professor Paul Bartelt will discuss his research on how amphibians have repopulated restored wetlands here in Winnebago County. Come learn why amphibians are important and how they can adapt to recreated wetlands. Handouts will be available to take home and refreshments will be served. This program will be free of charge and no preregistration is required.

Come out to Thorpe Park and enjoy an evening of fishing at Lake Catherine! You won't need a fishing license and we'll have equipment that you can borrow, as well. Handouts and information about Iowa fish will also be available. Be sure to bring the whole family out! No preregistration is required, but the event may be canceled if the weather is inclement.
